On the first day of the official visit to Japan, the TelanganaRising delegation led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy met senior leadership of Marubeni Corporation and convinced the Marubeni Group which operates in 65 countries to invest in the Future City. Marubeni Corp has conveyed their interest to establish a state-of-the-art next generation industrial park in the Future City and both sides signed and exchanged a Letter of Intent (LoI).
The next-generation industrial park will be developed in 600 acres in a phase-wise manner in the Future City dedicated for Japanese companies and other multinational companies to set up their manufacturing plants in Hyderabad and will attract major investments of over Rs 5,000 Cr. Marubeni industrial park to generate 30,000 jobs.
The Marubeni Industrial Park will focus on Electronics, Green Pharma, Precision Engineering, Aerospace and Defence sectors, which are largely aligned with Telangana’s objective of attracting foreign investments in advanced manufacturing and create skilled employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion and welcoming Marubeni to the Future City being developed in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said, “We are delighted to have Marubeni as a marquee investor for the Future City, India’s first city being designed to be a Net Zero city. We welcome Marubeni to Hyderabad and given the friendship of India and Japan for centuries, I am sure you will find yourself at home when you come to Telangana,”
Welcoming the Chief Minister and his delegation to Japan, Dai Sakakura, Executive Officer and COO, Next Generation Business, Marubeni, said, “We are delighted after listening to CM Revanth Reddy’s vision for Telangana and Hyderabad, and wish to be amongst the earliest to explore possibilities there,".
Meets JICA VP Shohei Hara
JICA positive on continued support to Telangana
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy called on Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Senior Vice President of JICA Shohei Hara about possibilities of support for Metro Rail Phase 2, Musi, Radial Roads connecting ORR and Regional Ring Roads (RRR) projects.
The Chief Minister informed the JICA team that the Metro Rail phase-2 project proposal with an investment of Rs 24,269 crore as a joint venture project of Government of India and Government of Telangana was already under active consideration of the Union government.
The Telangana government is keen on JICA support for the 48 percent loan component of the project, which is about Rs 11,693 crore. Shohei Hara requested Revanth Reddy to pursue the Metro Rail and other eligible projects with government of India for JICA's support.
