5 year old dies in lift accident

A heart-wrenching incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Mahi Women’s PG Hostel in the Gowlidoddi area, where a five-year-old girl died after her hair got trapped in a lift, leading to her head being crushed. The victim, Bistu Ghosh, a Class 2 student at a local school, belonged to a family that had migrated from West Bengal to Hyderabad in search of livelihood. The family was staying at the hostel and working in the kitchen.

According to reports, the girl was travelling in the apartment lift from the ground floor to the 5th floor. At the 3rd floor, her hair got stuck between the lift doors. As the lift moved upwards, the child’s head was tragically crushed, resulting in her instantaneous death. The entire incident happened within a few seconds. Locals who noticed the tragedy immediately alerted the police by dialling 100. Teams from the Police, HYDRA, and Fire Services rushed to the spot.

The girl’s body was carefully moved out from the lift and shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem. Gachibowli Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
