Speaking at a one-day special orientation training organized for Sarpanchs of Kuravi and Sironcha mandals, Mahbubabad district Collector emphasized that local bodies have a crucial role to play in village development, particularly in the education sector. “Strengthening village schools is the foundation for overall village development,” she stated. The event was held as part of ‘Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika’ 99-day program under the auspices of the Education Department at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Kuravi on Wednesday.
The Collector called upon Sarpanchs to take the lead in developing schools in their villages and transform education into a people’s movement. She advised them to pay special attention to key aspects such as student attendance, cleanliness, safety, drinking water supply, and toilet facilities. She urged Sarpanchs to make the complete elimination of school dropouts their immediate priority and encouraged active involvement of parents in school activities to improve students’ skills.
The Collector shared best practices she had observed during her recent school visits. She appreciated the use of Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs), smart teaching methods and the growing awareness among students on cleanliness. She stressed that quality education could be achieved only through better coordination between teachers, Sarpanchs, School Management Committees, and Education Department officials. The Collector further suggested Sarpanchs to monitor several social issues at the field level including prevention of drug abuse among youth, road safety programs and elimination of child marriages.
