As part of the Praja Palana Pragati Pranalika, the Telangana Government will organise Rythu Varotsavalu across the State from May 4 to May 9, aiming to strengthen direct engagement with farmers and ensure effective delivery of government schemes and agricultural services. The Rythu Varotsavalu will be formally launched at Tandur on May 4 (Monday) by Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, who will also unveil the TG Organics app. The app aims to create a structured platform for marketing organic produce and supporting farmers engaged in sustainable agriculture.
Elaborating on the initiative, Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said the week-long programme is designed to bring governance to farmers’ doorsteps through coordinated efforts by multiple departments. The objective is to enhance awareness of modern agricultural practices, improve access to services, and build confidence among farmers ahead of the upcoming cropping season.
The Minister stated that the programme would be implemented with strong inter-departmental coordination, with District Collectors acting as nodal officers to monitor execution and maintain quality standards. The initiative is expected to bridge the gap between farmers and government systems while ensuring the last-mile delivery of welfare measures and technical guidance.
Each day of the festival will focus on a specific sector. The opening day will be led by the Agriculture Department, covering soil health management, balanced fertiliser usage, and promotion of natural farming practices. The second day, under the Horticulture Department, will highlight crop diversification and micro irrigation techniques. On the third day, the Cooperative and Marketing Departments will provide insights into credit facilities and market linkages.
The fourth day will feature demonstrations on farm mechanisation, the use of drones, and solar-powered solutions. The fifth day will focus on animal husbandry and fisheries, promoting livestock health and fish production. The concluding day will be led by the Irrigation Department, offering guidance on water resource management and preparatory measures for the monsoon season.
Highlighting that modern technology demonstrations will be a key attraction, the Minister called upon public representatives, officials, and farmers to actively participate. He reiterated the government’s commitment to farmer welfare and agricultural development through inclusive and technology-driven initiatives.
