Set to create 2,300 jobs
Hyderabad is poised to host the first Global Capability Center (GCC) of Vanguard, one of the world's largest investment management firms. This marks Vanguard's inaugural GCC in India, further enhancing Hyderabad’s status as a global hub for technology and financial services.
The announcement was made during a high-profile meeting on Monday at the Telangana Chief Minister’s residence in Banjara Hills. Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with Vanguard’s leadership team, including CEO Salim Ramji, IT Division CIO & MD Nitin Tandon, Chief HR Officer John Couche, and GCC-Vanguard India Head Venkatesh Natarajan. Telangana Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari and other senior government officials were also present.
Welcoming Vanguard’s decision, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized Hyderabad's rapid transformation into a premier destination for Global Capability Centers as part of the "Telangana Rising Vision." He noted that Vanguard’s entry would boost Hyderabad’s global reputation and generate significant employment opportunities for skilled professionals. The state government assured Vanguard of full support to ensure smooth establishment and operations.
CEO Salim Ramji expressed confidence in Hyderabad’s capabilities, citing the city’s abundant talent pool, high quality of life, and supportive business environment as the reasons behind their decision. He also acknowledged the proactive assistance offered by the Telangana government, making Hyderabad the ideal choice for Vanguard’s expansion in India.
Vanguard, which manages assets worth nearly $10 trillion and serves over 50 million investors globally, aims to strengthen its technological prowess and expand its footprint through this GCC. The Hyderabad GCC is expected to create 2,300 jobs, further contributing to the city’s economic growth.
This initiative underscores Hyderabad’s prominence in attracting global investments and fostering innovation-driven development.
