Mahesh Kumar Goud, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) and a Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), was awarded the 7th Dan Karate Black Belt and a certificate by the Okinawa Martial Arts Academy in Hyderabad on Monday.
He earned this recognition after completing a three-hour competition held at the YWCA, where he secured both the black belt and certification.
During the event, he expressed his pride and joy in receiving the 7th Dan Karate Black Belt certificate.
“Karate is integral to my life, and I always find time to practice it, regardless of my stress levels,” Mahesh Kumar Goud stated.
He also highlighted the challenges faced by today's youth, noting that many parents place undue mental stress on their children by prioritizing technology over physical activity. "Sports and exercise should be fundamental for maintaining physical health, and parents ought to encourage their children to engage in sports," the TPCC President emphasised.
As the State President and National Vice-President of the Karate Association, he affirmed his commitment to prioritising the organization of Karate competitions.
He also promised that steps should be taken to hold the Asian Karate Championships at Hyderabad in 2027.
