Ego is one’s greatest enemy: Jyothish Peeth Shankaracharya

Metro India News | VARANASI : Addressing a spiritual practitioners during the Navratri celebrations at Shri Vidya Math in Varanasi, revered Jagadguru Shankaracharya of Uttarāmnāya Jyotish Peeth said that ego is the greatest enemy of human beings. Shankaracharya Maharaj cautioned that no individual should become arrogant on account of their position, prestige or authority. He stressed that humility is essential and that pride can lead to the loss of the very qualities and prosperity that people seek to preserve. A grand Shri Vidya Sadhana Camp is currently underway at Shri Vidya Math as part of the Navratri observances.

A large number of spiritual practitioners and devotees from across the country have gathered at the Math to learn the intricacies of initiation and Shri Vidya spiritual practices. Daily recitations of the Navachandi are being conducted by Vedic scholars under the guidance of Acharya Pandit Vireshwar Datar. Ritual worship is also conducted every day through the recitation of the Sahasranama, Trishati and Ashtottara, using various ritual offerings.
