Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda launched a sharp attack on the Congress government in Telangana, alleging that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has turned the state into an "ATM for Delhi" by diverting Telangana's resources to the Congress high command. Addressing party leaders during his visit to Hyderabad on Thursday, Nadda claimed that while the previous BRS government treated the Kaleshwaram project as its ATM, the Congress government has now converted the entire state into an ATM for Delhi.

Calling for a "double engine government" in Telangana, Nadda said only a BJP government at both the Centre and the state could ensure rapid and inclusive development. He accused the Congress government of stalling the state's progress while the Narendra Modi government continues to drive national growth through welfare and development initiatives.

Highlighting the Centre's welfare measures, Nadda said nearly 80 crore people across the country, including around 1.2 crore beneficiaries in Telangana, are receiving free food grains under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. He urged BJP workers to take the Centre's achievements to every household, expose the failures of the Congress government, and work towards bringing the BJP to power in Telangana.

AIIMS Bibinagar set to emerge as South India's premier healthcare hub

Reviewing the progress of AIIMS Bibinagar, Nadda expressed confidence that the institute would emerge as one of South India's leading healthcare institutions, with the remaining infrastructure scheduled for completion by December 2026.

He said the institute, sanctioned in June 2022 with an outlay of Rs.1,110 crore, has become operational within four years and currently has 132 faculty members, nine specialties, emergency services, CT scan and MRI facilities, a daily OPD footfall of about 1,800 patients, and telemedicine services that have benefited over 1.56 lakh patients.

Nadda said the Modi government has strengthened India's healthcare ecosystem by establishing 19 new AIIMS after 2014, expanding the total planned AIIMS institutions to 23, of which 18 are already operational. He also highlighted the establishment of 1.85 lakh Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and the increase in medical colleges from 370 to 820. Appreciating AIIMS Bibinagar's academic achievements, he noted that the institute has published 1,156 research papers, conducted 547 medical camps benefiting more than 66,000 people, and established the country's first Community Radio Station at an AIIMS campus.

'Several leaders ready to join BJP'

Addressing a meeting of Telangana BJP leaders at the party office in Nampally, Nadda said several prominent leaders from other political parties are preparing to join the BJP, expressing confidence that these inductions would further strengthen the party in the state.

Drawing parallels with Himachal Pradesh, he said the BJP had successfully attracted several senior Congress leaders there and urged Telangana leaders to adopt a similar approach by welcoming leaders willing to join the party. Nadda also took a swipe at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, remarking that he was "weak in mathematics" and accusing him of making misleading claims against the Central government.

He asserted that people in Telangana are increasingly disappointed with both the Congress and the BRS and are looking towards the BJP as a credible political alternative.
