Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Thursday unveiled an ambitious roadmap to transform Hyderabad into one of the world's best cities to live in while positioning Telangana as a major global investment destination and a leading contributor to India's economic growth. Addressing a gathering after inaugurating Premier Energies' Next Gen Solar Module Manufacturing Facility at Seetharampur in Rangareddy district, the Chief Minister said the State aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, contributing 10 per cent to the country's GDP through sustainable industrialisation, world-class infrastructure and skilled human resources.
The Chief Minister said politics should remain confined to election time and that the government's sole focus is now on Telangana's development. He stressed that attracting higher investments is essential to achieving robust economic growth and making Telangana the country's leading state.
Highlighting Hyderabad's future development strategy, Revanth Reddy said the government has prepared a long term plan to ensure the city remains pollution free and highly livable. Learning from the environmental and traffic challenges faced by Delhi, Bengaluru and Chennai, the government has decided to gradually shift industries beyond the Outer Ring Road while promoting industrial development between the Outer Ring Road and the Regional Ring Road. Agriculture and allied activities will be encouraged beyond the Regional Ring Road as part of a balanced development model. He also reiterated the government's commitment to restoring the Musi River.
The Chief Minister said the State has adopted the CURE, PURE and RARE development framework to ensure sustainable urban and industrial expansion. He also highlighted the establishment of a Skill University and Advanced Training Centres to equip local youth with industry ready skills and ensure employment opportunities arising from new investments benefit Telangana's workforce.
Expressing gratitude to the farmers of Seetharampur for their contribution towards industrial development, the Chief Minister directed the district administration to provide housing and develop commercial complexes for families who surrendered their land. He also assured continued investments for the development of the Chevella region.
The programme was attended by Industries Minister Dudilla Sridhar Babu, Premier Energies Limited Chairman Surender Pal Singh Saluja, Managing Director Chiranjeev Saluja, Executive Director Revathi Rohini Buragadda, and Director Sudheer Reddy.
'Sports University to power Telangana's Olympic Dream'
Later in the evening, at the launch of Telangana's first Sports University in Gachibowli, the Chief Minister announced his vision of transforming Hyderabad into a global sports destination capable of hosting the Olympic Games in the future. He said the Sports University will function as a centre of excellence by offering world class infrastructure, scientific coaching and academic programmes to nurture sporting talent. Revanth Reddy said the government is committed to strengthening sports infrastructure, supporting athletes and creating opportunities for young talent, enabling Telangana to emerge as a national leader in sports while enhancing Hyderabad's global stature.
