BRS MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan Kumar launched a scathing attack on the Telangana government and Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy, accusing the administration of misleading people with slogans such as “Telangana Rising” and promises of building a “$3 trillion economy,” while pushing the state into a severe financial crisis.

In an open letter, Dasoju cited the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report for 2025-26 and alleged that the government had failed on every major financial indicator. He claimed the administration projected a revenue estimate of Rs 2,29,720 crore but realized only Rs 1,81,810 crore, resulting in a 20.86 percent shortfall. He also pointed to poor land revenue collections of just Rs 0.62 crore against an estimate of Rs 11.20 crore, and alleged that stamp duty and registration revenues had sharply declined despite the government’s “Future City” campaign.

Dasoju further alleged that non-tax revenue collections stood at only 60 percent of the target, leaving a gap of nearly Rs 12,600 crore. Questioning excise revenue figures, he claimed liquor shops across Telangana remained overcrowded while the treasury fell short of its excise target by over Rs 5,200 crore, alleging the existence of an illegal liquor syndicate.

The BRS leader also accused the government of reckless borrowing, alleging it exceeded the Legislature-approved borrowing limit by raising Rs 77,762 crore against the sanctioned Rs 54,009 crore. He termed the Chief Minister’s relations with the Centre a “failed diplomacy,” claiming Telangana received only Rs 10,422 crore in grants against an estimate of Rs 22,782 crore. Dasoju demanded transparency and accountability over the state’s worsening fiscal condition.
