Mancherial DCP Eggadi Bhaskar warned that strict action will be taken against those involved in illegal transportation of cattle in the district ahead of the Bakrid festival. He inspected the interstate check post set up at Rapanpally under Kotapalli police station limits and reviewed the security arrangements in place.

During the visit, the DCP examined the functioning of the check post and issued instructions to police personnel to maintain strict vigilance. He said coordinated efforts are being made with other departments to curb illegal animal transport, and special inspections are being carried out across the district by setting up multiple check posts.

He stated that transporting or slaughtering cows and calves illegally in any part of the district is strictly prohibited, and those violating the law will face severe legal action without any compromise. 24x7 surveillance has been arranged at all check posts to prevent the movement of cattle from other states and districts.

He further instructed officials to ensure that all vehicles transporting livestock comply with legal procedures and carry valid documents. Any suspicious movement or illegal activity should be immediately reported to police authorities. He also asked departments to coordinate with agriculture and revenue officials to monitor illegal transportation of paddy and goods from neighboring Maharashtra. ACP Jairam Venkateshwarlu, Kotapalli SI Rajashekar and Bheemaram SI Rajender accompanied the DCP during the inspection.
