District Collector Kumar Deepak has instructed officials to ensure the transportation and storage of procured paddy is carried out in a systematic and time-bound manner to prevent any damage to the grain.

On Saturday, the Collector, accompanied by Bellampalli Sub-Collector Manoj and Mandal Tahsildar Krishna, inspected the Agriculture Market Committee (AMC) Godown located at Bellampalli Mandal headquarters. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Kumar Deepak said the state government is procuring quality paddy directly from farmers at Minimum Support Price (MSP) under various welfare schemes to support the farming community.

He emphasized that the procured paddy must be transported safely to designated godowns and rice mills without any delays or damage. He directed officials to ensure quick unloading of paddy arriving at godowns and to store it strictly as per prescribed norms. Following the godown inspection, the Collector visited the Singareni Club in Bellampalli town and another Singareni Club at Budakalan village to assess the feasibility of using these facilities for paddy storage.

He instructed officials to obtain all necessary permissions and clearances required for storing paddy at these locations. He asked them to increase the number of hamalis (labourers) as per requirement to ensure faster unloading and processing. Collector Kumar Deepak stressed the need for close monitoring of all rice mills to ensure they achieve their Custom Milling of Rice (CMR) targets on schedule.

The inspection drive is part of the district administration’s efforts to streamline the paddy procurement process, ensure proper storage, and support farmers by preventing any post-procurement losses. Officials from the Civil Supplies, Revenue, and Agriculture departments accompanied the Collector during the visits.
