Tirupati railway station renovation work is expected to be completed by next year. Station director Kuppala Satyanarayana informed that the work is being carried out at a cost of Rs 300 crore at Tirupati railway station, the south side of the station will be ready by June next year. As per the details, the renovation work of Tirupati railway station was started in June 2022 at a cost of Rs 300 crore as part of the ongoing renovation work of 53 railway stations in the state under the “Amrut Bharat” scheme.
The construction work was taken up by Varindra Construction Company, which won the tender under the leadership of Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA). In the first phase of the work, the construction work of the building complex on the south side of Tirupati railway station has been completed. As part of this, a massive 10-storey building is being prepared. It has a variety of modern amenities such as waiting halls, ticket counters, cloak rooms, food courts, etc. Two bridges with a width of 35 feet are being set up connecting the north and south lines of the station.
Apart from this, 20 lifts and 24 escalators will also be available. Railway authorities are making preparations to inaugurate the southern building complex of Tirupati railway station, which is part of the first phase of development work to be completed soon, in June next year. Railway officials also expect to complete all other development works within another year and inaugurate the Tirupati model station in June 2026. Along with the director, railway station master Chinna Reddeppa, engineer Sambasiva Reddy and others displayed the ongoing development works to the media.
