Sridhar Babu lays foundation stone for eyewear unit

Lenskart, a global leader in eyewear manufacturing, is establishing one of the world's largest eyewear production facilities in in Tukkuguda’s Non-SEZ General Park

Will export products to markets, including Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia

An investment of Rs.1,500 crore, this plant is expected to create nearly 2,000 jobs

The government has allocated 50 acres of prime land in Raviryala, near Tukkuguda, to support this ambitious project

Lenskart, a global leader in eyewear manufacturing, is establishing one of the world's largest eyewear production facilities in Telangana with an investment of Rs.1,500 crore. The facility is located in Tukkuguda’s Non-SEZ General Park, generating approximately 2,000 employment opportunities.

Minister for IT and Industries Sridhar Babu  laid the foundation stone for the project here on Thursday. The production is set to begin within two years, with full-scale operations expected in four years. The Telangana government and Lenskart signed an MoU for this initiative on December 8 last year. The facility will manufacture eyewear products for export to markets, including Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Sridhar Babu stated that Telangana is committed to fostering industrial growth while creating meaningful employment opportunities.” "It is a proud moment that Lenskart has chosen Telangana to establish one of the world’s largest eyewear manufacturing facilities. This milestone further solidifies our position as a global industrial hub," he said. 

"While Lenskart already operates an advanced manufacturing unit in Rajasthan, this upcoming plant in Telangana will be the largest of its kind globally, setting new industry benchmarks," Sridhar Babu disclosed. "The government has allocated 50 acres of prime land in Raviryala, near Tukkuguda, to support this ambitious project. Production is set to commence within two years, with full-scale operations expected within four years," he added.

The event was attended by Chief Whip Patnam Mahender Reddy, TSIIC Managing Director Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, Ranga Reddy District Collector Narayana Reddy, Lenskart representatives Choudhary and Sumit, former MLA Kichannagari Lakshma Reddy, and other esteemed dignitaries.
