District Superintendent of Police Kekan Sudhir Ramanath visited the paddy collection centre at Jangalapalli on Monday along with Mulugu DSP Ravinder, Circle Inspector and other local police officers. He directly interacted with farmers and enquired about their problems. Farmers brought to the SP’s notice that inadequate transportation facilities were causing delays in moving paddy to rice mills, resulting in severe difficulties. They also complained that rice mills were making excess deductions in weight at the weighing scales (kanta).

After listening to the grievances, the SP assured the farmers that necessary steps would be taken immediately. He directed officials to remain alert at all times and ensure that no injustice is done to farmers. He instructed police officers to be readily available to address farmers’ issues. Later, the SP inspected Sri Mata Agro Tech Para Boiled Rice Mill at Abbapur. He reviewed the paddy storage, processing methods, and daily intake capacity. He particularly examined the weighing machine and the paddy quality inspection process.

The SP instructed the mill management to procure the maximum quantity of paddy from farmers in a transparent manner and ensure there are no irregularities in weighing. He issued a strict warning that legal action would be taken if any discrepancies are noticed in the weighing process. The SP directed police officials to continuously monitor all paddy collection points falling under their respective police station limits and submit daily reports on paddy movement and procurement.
