Seven newly elected Members of the Legislative Council (MLCs) were sworn in at the Telangana State Legislative Council on Monday. In the recent MLC elections, a total of eight members were elected under the Graduate, Teacher, and MLA quotas. However, on this occasion, only seven MLCs took their oaths, while sources from the BRS party indicated that Dasoju Shravan, who was elected as an MLC under the MLA quota, will take the oath on a later date.
The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy. Among those sworn in were Congress leaders Vijayashanti, Addanki Dayakar, and Shankar Nayak, along with CPI leader Nellikanti Satyam, all of whom were elected unanimously under the MLA quota.
Similarly, BJP's Anji Reddy, elected from the Karimnagar Graduate quota, Malka Komaraiah from the Teacher quota, and PRTU candidate Sripal Reddy, who won the Khammam Teacher MLC seat, also took oath. Ministers Sridhar Babu and Uttam Kumar Reddy, Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha Member Dr. Laxman, MP Raghunandan Rao, former minister Jana Reddy and others legislators attended the oath taking ceremony.
