Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), conducted a comprehensive review meeting on train operation safety across the zone on Monday, at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad. Satya Prakash, Additional General Manager, along with Principal Heads of Departments, attended the meeting, while Divisional Railway Managers from Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal, and Nanded divisions joined via video conferencing.
During the review, Srivastava stressed the need for a structured and phased approach to address safety concerns. He underlined the importance of intensified safety drives and regular inspections, particularly focusing on points and crossings, safety point alarms, and track infrastructure to prevent accidents and miscreant activities.
He directed officials and field staff to remain vigilant, especially during ongoing works near railway tracks, and to issue appropriate caution orders to alert train crews based on the nature of work. The General Manager also reviewed the maintenance of safety equipment to ensure preparedness against any untoward incidents within railway premises.
Additionally, he assessed the status of non-interlocked level crossing gates and examined the quality of rail fittings across the zone, emphasizing the need for strict monitoring and timely maintenance to enhance overall railway safety.
