South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Arun Kumar Jain on Friday inspected the upgradation works at Tirupati Railway station and other railway stations in Guntakal division of SCR. He was accompanied by Chandrashekar Gupta, Divisional Railway Manager, Guntakal division, senior officials and branch officers throughout the inspection.

GM inspected Tirupati Railway station, which is being redeveloped as part of the major upgradation of Railway stations with a cost of Rs 311 crores. He conducted a detailed review on the progress of ongoing infrastructure developmental works including construction of basement floor, G+3 floors framed station building, granite flooring, installation of 8 lifts, 2 escalators etc.

GM advised the officials to ensure all safety guidelines while carrying out the works. He also instructed to further expedite the works so as to complete the project by the targeted date. He conducted a detailed inspection of Tiruchanur Railway station, which has been recently constructed with a cost of Rs 32 crores. He inspected the high-level platforms constructed recently, the main concourse, circulating area and station façade. He also reviewed passenger amenities.

Later, the GM inspected Razampeta Railway station, wherein he reviewed the passenger amenities available at the station. He inspected the station master’s office and verified various records and registers pertaining to train operations and safety. He also inspected the on-going redevelopment works at Razampeta Railway station, which is being developed under ABSS with a cost of Rs 6 crores.

GM also conducted a rear window inspection from Razampeta to Kadapa, wherein he reviewed the track maintenance and safety aspects of electrical and signaling equipment of the section. He conducted a detailed inspection of Kadapa Railway station, he examined the passenger amenities and the circulating area. He also inspected food items at the catering stalls in the station.
