Actress sisters Ambika & Radha trade allegations over `46 crore cheques, property and financial settlement

Veteran South Indian actresses and sisters Ambika and Radha are embroiled in a financial and property dispute after Radha accused Ambika and their brother Mallikarjuna Kunjan Nair of allegedly misusing five signed cheques involving around ₹46 crore.

According to Radha’s complaint to the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner, she had kept signed blank cheques at her Chennai residence for expenses related to her business, earlier known as ARS Garden Studio. She said the business was renamed RR Gardens in January 2025, after which she stopped using the old cheque book.

Radha alleged that on September 17, she was informed by her bank that five old cheques had been presented in Ambika’s name. She immediately instructed the bank to stop payment. She claimed the cheques had been taken and used without her permission.

Ambika denied the allegations, saying the cheques were voluntarily handed over as part of a financial settlement linked to their property and business dispute. She has also claimed that Radha owes her around ₹97 crore, allegedly relating to property shares, business interests and other financial matters.
