The Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) has been hailed as a ground-breaking initiative that embodies Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s vision of leveraging technology for better governance. Minister for Civil Supplies, Nadendla Manohar, expressed this sentiment during his visit to the RTGS facility at the Secretariat on Thursday.
Welcomed by RTGS CEO K. Dinesh Kumar, the minister was given an in-depth overview of the society’s operations and its role in transforming governance.
Speaking about his visit, Minister Manohar said, “RTGS stands as a shining example of how technology and governance can intersect to address real-world challenges. It is a testament to the Chief Minister’s forward-thinking leadership.” He praised the comprehensive infrastructure established by RTGS, which integrates real-time data with governance to drive efficiency and accountability.
The minister emphasized the critical role of data in governance, describing it as the backbone of decision-making. “Data substantiates reality,” he said, “and by leveraging this data, the government can manage assets, monitor schemes, and ensure that benefits reach people at the grassroots level.”He lauded RTGS for its ability to connect with citizens at both Panchayat and Municipal levels, ensuring that governance is inclusive and impactful.
The minister noted that RTGS has set a new benchmark for departmental coordination and program execution, enforcing accountability and adherence to timelines. He also commended RTGS officials and staff for their dedication to providing the technical infrastructure necessary for efficient governance.
RTGS CEO K. Dinesh Kumar elaborated on the organization’s mission to make governance smarter and more accessible. Operating under the “One Government, One State, One Citizen, One Data” policy, RTGS is creating a centralized system for data integration across all government departments.
This initiative includes the development of a massive data lake that consolidates information from various sources.Using Artificial Intelligence and advanced technologies, RTGS analyzes this data to monitor and optimize the delivery of government schemes. “We are working towards creating a unique profile for every household and village in the state,” the CEO explained.
“This will enable us to tailor services and monitor the effectiveness of government programs more precisely.” Dinesh Kumar also announced plans for the launch of WhatsApp Governance, a new service that will allow citizens to access government services and information via WhatsApp, further bridging the gap between governance and the public.
The minister’s visit concluded with discussions on the future potential of RTGS, including its capability to provide real-time insights into government programs and citizen engagement. The event was attended by RTGS Deputy CEO M. Madhuri and other officials, who highlighted the collective efforts behind this transformative initiative.
