AP ministers visit hospital, console victim’s family members

AP ministers visited the family members of those who died in the stampede in the queue line in Tirupati yesterday. State Home Minister Anitha, State Revenue Minister District In-charge Minister Angani Satya Prasad, State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Housing and Information Minister Kolusu Parthasarathy, Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu, District Collector Dr. S Venkateswara Chandragiri MLA Pulivarthi Nani, Tirupati MLA Arani Srinivasulu, Joint Chittoor District Jana Sena Party President Hari Prasad, Joint Collector, examined the dead bodies at the hospital mortuary, consoled their families and learned about the details. Later, the ministers spoke to the media and said that the government will provide all possible support to the families of those who died in the stampede.

They said that there are CCTV cameras at every place where tickets for Vaikuntha Ekadashi darshan are available, they will inspect them and after conducting a full investigation into the incident, strict action will be taken against the staff if there is negligence.  

The government has announced compensation for those who died in the stampede that took place in Tirupati last night. Minister Satya Prasad announced that Rs. 25 lakhs will be given to each of the deceased. Appropriate compensation will also be given to the injured.

He said that the government will bear the hospital expenses of each of the injured until they recover and will provide all necessary medical services. Health Minister Satyakumar Yadav mentioned that 35 more people are undergoing treatment in SWIMS. He said that the condition of those currently undergoing treatment is stable.
