Attracted by the Clean and Green New Energy Policy of the Telangana government, national and international companies are stepping forward to invest in the state. In a major development, MoUs worth Rs 29,000 crore were signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu at an event organized at the Telangana State Institute of Rural Development, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Ecorace Energy India Pvt. Ltd. and GPRS Arya Pvt. Ltd. signed agreements with TG REDCO to contribute to the state’s renewable energy goals. Ecorace will invest Rs 27,000 crore to generate 5,600 MW of green energy, while GPRS Arya will invest Rs 2,000 crore in compressed biogas (CBG) projects across 15 districts. The CBG projects, utilizing rice straw, are expected to benefit farmers financially and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that Telangana's progressive energy policies are drawing considerable national and global attention. He cited earlier agreements signed during the Davos visit by CM Revanth Reddy and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu, including Sun Petro’s Rs 20,000 crore investment for a 3,400 MW pumped storage project and MEIL’s Rs 7,500 crore investment for 1,500 MW. Bhatti said that these two companies are in the process of preparing DPRs, and new projects of these companies will commence in a few days.

Bhatti stressed that Telangana is preparing to meet future energy demands, with the peak load expected to rise to 24,215 MW by 2029-30 and 31,809 MW by 2034-35. The government aims to produce 40,000 MW of green energy by 2035, with a clear action plan for 20,000 MW by 2030. Assuring full cooperation to investors, the Deputy CM reiterated the government’s commitment to green energy, emphasizing its importance for sustainable development and energy security for the state’s future.
