BTS, the global K-pop phenomenon, continues to dominate the music industry despite being on a temporary hiatus. However, their immense fame has attracted persistent online harassment, malicious attacks, and even stalking incidents. On March 31, BigHit Music, the agency representing BTS, released an official statement via Weverse, updating fans on the legal measures taken against those responsible for these harmful actions.

The statement addressed a 2024 incident involving a 50-year-old Japanese woman who sexually harassed BTS member Jin at a fan event. The woman kissed Jin’s neck without consent, making him visibly uncomfortable. The South Korean police temporarily halted their investigation due to difficulties in contacting the woman, who has been residing abroad.

BigHit revealed that legal actions are underway against several individuals spreading defamatory online content about BTS. Some have been fined, and others are facing prosecution. Notably, the agency identified a YouTuber, ‘Taldeok Camp,’ who has been spreading harmful content, and the court has ruled that the individual owes 76 million KRW in damages.

BigHit also addressed a stalking case from the previous year, noting the swift legal action taken. The agency emphasized its commitment to protecting BTS from any threats, urging fans to report harmful activities to maintain a safe environment.
