District Collector Sneha Shabharish has stated that the government is taking special measures and allocating funds for the development of towns and villages. She urged people to responsibly pay their house tax and water tax to support the growth of their localities. The Collector instructed officials to expedite pending works in the education sector. She was speaking during a review meeting on pending development works held at the Collectorate on Wednesday.

Speaking on this occasion Collector Sneha directed officials to generate revenue through house tax, water tax, trade licences and layout permissions. She suggested creating wide publicity for tax collection and informing people through bulk SMS campaigns. Officials were told to constantly monitor water supply under Mission Bhagiratha and the municipal system, and to arrange tanker supply wherever necessary.

The collector ordered strict action against illegal constructions on government lands. She called for special attention to sanitation and asked officials to prepare and submit proposals for additional autos, tractors, and other vehicles where required.  Regarding the education sector, she noted that various development works in approximately 839 schools — including kitchen sheds, dining halls, toilets, compound walls, drinking water supply systems, minor repairs and works approved under Mana Ooru Mana Badi and Amma Adarsha Paathashaala schemes are still pending.

She instructed officials from the Panchayat Raj, Roads and Buildings, Tribal Welfare Engineering, National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, and EWC departments to complete these pending works immediately.
