Hyderabad City Police, along with Special Police, are gearing up to provide security with 20,000 personnel for the Sri Rama Navami Shobha Yatra on April 6. A coordination meeting was held on Thursday at Draupadi Garden, Sitaram Bagh, chaired by CV Anand, DG Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad, with officers from various departments.

Speaking on the occasion, CV Anand highlighted that the Shobha Yatra, which began in 2010, has gained national prominence. The procession starts from Sitaram Bagh and concludes at Hanuman Gymnasium, with elaborate security arrangements in place to ensure a peaceful event.

He urged public and festival organizers to cooperate with the police and requested that the yatra commence by 1 PM. Given past experiences and the narrow procession routes, he advised organizers to conduct a trial run with vehicles in advance. Since drones will be used for security monitoring, he emphasized that prior permission from the local police is mandatory for anyone wishing to operate drones.

Considering health concerns related to high-decibel DJ sound systems, the Commissioner advised using regular sound systems instead. He also stressed that no speeches or songs should be played that could offend any community.

A joint control room at the ICCC building will oversee the procession, with special security deployed at key intersections and sensitive locations. CCTV surveillance will be in place, and officers were instructed to form WhatsApp groups for efficient communication. Following the meeting, officials from GHMC, Bhagyanagar Sri Ramanavami Utsav Samiti, and other departments inspected the procession route to ensure all necessary arrangements.
