Vice President and Congress Party In-charge for Sanathnagar Assembly Constituency, Dr. Kota Neelima, on Wednesday participated in the distribution of newly sanctioned Smart Ration Cards at Begumpet Division. The program was organized under the leadership of senior Congress leader Vishal Soodam. Dr. Neelima distributed the newly issued ration cards to beneficiaries and congratulated them on receiving the cards.
Dr. Kota Neelima said that since assuming office, the Congress government had sanctioned 15 lakh new ration cards across Telangana, benefiting eligible poor and middle-class families. A ration card, she noted, was not merely an identity document, but an important gateway through which economically vulnerable families could access several government welfare and food security benefits, she mentioned. Dr. Neelima said the Congress government was distributing fine-quality rice (Sanna Biyyam) to around 3.38 crore people across the State.
She said the government was continuing to strengthen food security alongside its welfare initiatives with the objective of improving the living standards and overall well-being of poor and vulnerable sections of society. Later, Dr. Neelima inaugurated China Town Biryani House, a new restaurant belonging to Division leader Krishna, and conveyed her best wishes to him.
