On the occasion of World Earth Day, Medicover Hospitals reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by launching a comprehensive green initiative that goes beyond symbolism—from deforestation to reforestation, and from traditional methods to tech-enabled environmental stewardship.
As part of the Earth Day celebrations, each Head of Department (HOD) at Medicover planted a sapling within the hospital premises and pledged to personally nurture it. Dr. Vikram Kishore, Dr. Sreekanth Reddy, Dr. Shashidhar, and Senior Consultants from Medicover Participated in planting sapling. This act symbolizes the hospital’s dedication to reversing the effects of deforestation through active reforestation and community-led environmental care.
In alignment with this vision, Medicover is also embracing technology-driven solutions to reduce its ecological footprint. The hospital is among the first in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to adopt a paperless healthcare ecosystem, incorporating digital patient records, e-prescriptions, and green administrative processes — minimizing paper usage and promoting operational sustainability.
Dr. Sharath Reddy, Clinical Director, Medicover Hospitals, stated, ‘Protecting the planet begins with small but committed steps. Our dual approach—planting trees and integrating smart, eco-friendly technologies—is how we contribute to a healthier Earth and healthier lives.’ Santosh, Founder Green India remarked, ‘Medicover’s transition from deforestation concerns to reforestation action, coupled with their use of technology to support environmental protection, sets a benchmark. Their model of sustainability deserves wide recognition.’
