Medical camps organised in Narasapuram and Srikalahasti for artisans

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan acted within a day on his promise to safeguard the health of handicraft artisans, made during the inauguration of the Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Festival. On his instructions, cluster-wise medical camps have been launched to provide healthcare support to artisans.

On Wednesday, special medical camps were organised for lace artisans in Narasapuram and Kalamkari artisans in Srikalahasti.

In Narasapuram, 105 lace artisans underwent medical examinations. Of them, 37 were diagnosed with eye-related problems, including 16 cases of cataracts. Arrangements are being made, in coordination with the Health Department, to provide cataract surgeries for those who require them. Another 21 artisans with minor vision defects will be provided with corrective spectacles.

In Srikalahasti, 53 handicraft artisans underwent comprehensive medical check-ups, including specialised and routine health examinations.

Eye Examination for Mahalakshmi at Sankara Nethralaya During the Handicrafts Festival, Mahalakshmi, a lace artisan from Pasaladeevi village in Narasapuram constituency, informed the Deputy Chief Minister that she was suffering from vision problems.
