Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Thursday called upon every citizen to participate in the fight against drug abuse and transform the campaign into a mass movement. He attended the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – Drug-Free Telangana" program organized by the police department as the Chief Guest and unveiled awareness posters highlighting the harmful effects of drugs. Along with Social Welfare Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar, Warangal West MLA Nainii Rajender Reddy, Wardhannapet MLA K.R. Nagaraju and other dignitaries, he administered a public pledge to encourage community participation in eliminating drug abuse.

The Governor said the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi should evolve into a nationwide awareness movement. He noted that encouraging youth to participate in sports can help keep them away from drugs and promoted the message, "Play sports... Drive out drugs."  Minister Adluri Laxman Kumar mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government has adopted a focused strategy to transform the state into a drug-free society and sought the active participation of all sections of the society alongside government agencies.
