To strengthen rapid response capabilities during emergencies, the Hyderabad City Police conducted a midnight mobilisation drill in the Khairatabad Zone near the Telangana Secretariat. The exercise was carried out following the directions of City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, and was directly supervised by Khairatabad Zone DCP K. Shilpavalli, IPS.

The drill took place around the high-security Telangana Secretariat premises, with the participation of nearly 275 police personnel. The contingent included staff from all police stations under the zone, ranging from Home Guards to Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs).

The primary objective of the exercise was to test the quick response mechanism in the event of any untoward incident. Personnel were assessed on how swiftly they could assemble and reach the designated location after receiving alerts. The mobilisation was coordinated through the Zonal Control Room to ensure seamless communication and effective deployment.

During the drill, officials also inspected critical equipment such as public addressing systems, riot control gear and fire response tools to ensure they were functional and readily available. Security arrangements in and around the Secretariat were reviewed, and necessary instructions were issued to enhance preparedness.

Addressing the personnel, DCP Shilpavalli emphasized that public safety is the foremost responsibility of the police. She stated that such regular drills improve coordination, operational efficiency and readiness to handle emergencies effectively.
