Hyderabad Traffic Police on Sunday conducted the second one-way traffic trial run around KBR Park in Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills in view of the ongoing H-CITI project works, including the construction of a steel flyover and underpass.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar inspected the trial run along with senior traffic and police officials at key junctions around KBR Park. Officials monitored vehicle movement and assessed traffic conditions at major stretches, including Jubilee Hills Check Post, Film Nagar, Agrasen Junction and Basavatarakam Hospital.

Sajjanar said the exercise was aimed at finding a long-term solution to traffic congestion and preparing for future increases in vehicle volume. He noted that a similar trial run was conducted earlier and the present exercise was designed after incorporating lessons learned from that experience.

The Commissioner said the one-way arrangement was only a trial and would remain in force until Sunday night, after which normal traffic movement would resume. He added that several flyovers and underpasses planned around the KBR Park corridor are expected to ease congestion and improve traffic flow in the area.

Traffic officials observed some difficulties at lane-changing points during the trial. To address this, plans are being made to create a 150-metre interchange stretch between Jubilee Hills Check Post and KBR Park to facilitate smoother lane movement. Authorities are also studying pedestrian safety measures and using drone surveillance to analyse traffic patterns before taking a final decision on any permanent traffic changes.
