Internal Hackathon held at Sree Datta Institute of Engineering and Science

Students at Sree Datta Institute of Engineering and Science put their technical skills and creative ideas to the test at an internal hackathon organised as part of preparations for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2026.

The programme was aimed at encouraging students to identify real-world challenges and develop practical, technology-based solutions. Teams from different departments participated enthusiastically, working on problem statements and exploring technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Internet of Things, web and mobile applications, cybersecurity, cloud computing and blockchain.

The participating teams presented their ideas, prototypes and proposed solutions before an evaluation panel. Projects were assessed on innovation, creativity, technical feasibility, problem-solving approach, scalability, social impact and practicality. Following the presentations, promising teams eligible for the next stage of SIH 2026 were identified.

Chairman G. Pandu Ranga Reddy appreciated the students’ enthusiasm and creativity, saying hackathons provide an opportunity to take classroom learning into the real world. Vice Chairman Dr. G.N.V. Vibhav Reddy stressed the value of national-level programmes in developing teamwork, creativity, problem-solving abilities and industry-relevant skills.

CMD G. Devendra Vikram Reddy congratulated the students, faculty mentors and organisers and highlighted the importance of innovation and entrepreneurship. Dean Dr. S. Venkata Achyutha Rao urged students to strengthen communication and presentation skills alongside technical knowledge.

Programme Coordinator Dr. SK. Mahaboob Basha and SPOC Dr. Abdul Munaaf also appreciated the efforts of students and mentors. Faculty members guided teams in refining ideas, strengthening solutions and improving presentations.

The institute said it would continue supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, experiential learning and technology-driven solutions aimed at benefiting society and the nation.1
