The Water Board has launched the "Motor-Free Tap" drive to curb illegal water motor usage and prevent wastage. On the first day, officials seized 64 unauthorized motors and fined 84 consumers for violations. The drive targets areas with low water pressure and colonies where illegal motors are commonly used.

Managing Director Ashok Reddy, along with vigilance and local officials, inspected water supply operations in Madhapur’s Kakatiya Hills. He explained that the city receives water through large pumps and pipelines covering 150 kilometers. He urged residents to avoid using purified drinking water, which costs Rs 50 per 1,000 liters, for purposes like gardening, floor cleaning, and vehicle washing.
