South Korean automakers Hyundai Motor India Ltd and Kia India on Monday announced that their popular SUVs, Hyundai Venue and Kia Seltos, have secured top 5-star safety ratings under India’s Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP).
The all-new Venue and its N Line variant achieved a 5-star safety rating, scoring 31.147 points in adult occupant protection, according to Hyundai Motor India Ltd. The company said the result reflects its strong focus on delivering high safety standards across its product range.
Hyundai Motor India Managing Director and CEO Tarun Garg said the achievement reaffirms the company’s commitment to offering world-class vehicles with advanced safety features to Indian customers.
In a separate statement, Kia India said its Seltos SUV also secured a 5-star rating in the BNCAP crash tests. The model scored 31.70 points for adult occupant protection and an impressive 45.00 points for child occupant protection.
Kia India Managing Director and CEO Gwanggu Lee said safety remains central to the brand’s product philosophy as it aims to strengthen trust among Indian consumers. He noted that the Seltos’ performance highlights the company’s engineering capabilities, with a strong emphasis on structural integrity and advanced safety technologies. The latest ratings under the BNCAP programme mark a significant boost for both models, reinforcing their appeal as safe and reliable family SUVs in the highly competitive Indian automobile market.
