Visitors to Hyderabad would be taken to Charminar, Golconda Fort, Qutb Shahi Tombs and the grand old bazaars in the Old City. Now! The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is planning to expand the site-seeing offerings to tourists under the “West Hyderabad Tourism Circuit” initiative.

This project aims to enhance connectivity between key tourist attractions, including Kotwalguda Eco Park, Bapu Ghat, Taramati Baradari, and Chilkur Forest Trek Park. HMDA has invited Expressions of Interest (EOI) from private firms for the development of the project under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The selected company will undertake the project on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate, and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. HMDA will oversee land allocation, approvals, and infrastructure support, while the private partner will be responsible for investment, construction, and maintenance.

The proposed West Hyderabad Tourism Circuit will cover approximately 31 km, linking multiple tourist destinations with improved connectivity. The circuit will include new road networks connecting Langer Houz to Taramati Baradari (3.8 km), Bapu Ghat to Kotwalguda Eco Park (13.5 km), Himayat Sagar to Narsingi Trek Park (7.5 km), and Forest Trek Park to Taramati Baradari (6 km).

The project also includes the construction of shopping centers, food courts, and entertainment zones to make the circuit more attractive to visitors. Private firms will be responsible for designing and developing these facilities, ensuring a modern and engaging tourism experience. The agreement mandates that after the lease period, the developed infrastructure will be handed over to the government.

HMDA officials believe this project will significantly boost tourism and economic activity in Hyderabad, increasing revenue for the government while promoting the city’s cultural and natural heritage. The initiative will also introduce customized tourist packages and world-class amenities, making Hyderabad a more appealing destination. By improving accessibility and adding modern infrastructure, HMDA aims to establish West Hyderabad as a prominent tourism hub, making it easier for visitors to explore and enjoy the city’s diverse attractions.
