Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka stated that the People’s government has been actively supporting fine arts on a large scale, ensuring that artists will continually receive the government's support.

He further mentioned that the government has been offering the necessary resources and services to individuals who promote the arts in the state. The Deputy Chief Minister was the Chief Guest at the Bhakta Ramadas Jayanthi celebrations organised under the aegis of Telangana Sangeetha Nataka Academy at Indoor stadium of LB Stadium here on Sunday.

Bhatti Vikramarka, along with Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar Goud and Seethakka  felicitated classical music experts on this occasion. Later addressing the meeting attended by musicians, lyricists and composers, Bhatti Vikramarka said that hereafter State Government will organise Bhakta Ramadas Jayanthi celebrations every year   on a grand scale on the lines of Tyagaraja Aradhanotsavalu organised at Thiruvayyur.

He said that 392 birth anniversary celebrations were being organised by the Congress government throughout the State and he was happy that famous classical musicians Padmasri Yella Venkateswara Rao, Padmasri Dr Shobharaju, Kalaratna Puraskar awardees and Hyderabad Brothers Raghavachari , Hyderabad sisters Haripriya, Prema Rama Murthy, Kovela Shantha, DV Mohan Krishna  and other prominent musicians attended the event.

Stating that he is proud of representing the district in which Bhakta Ramadas was born , the Deputy Chief Minister recalled that every one was aware of how Bhakta Ramadas serving as Tahsildar under the Tanisha rule used the tax money collected from people to renovate the dilapidated Sri Sitaramachandra Swamy temple in Bhadrachalam and became the victim of Tanisha’s wrath and faced imprisonment in Golconda fort  as punishment. He called upon composers and musicians to take Bhakt Ramadas as inspiration and popularise music of devout composers and authors for the benefit of future generations.

Bhatti Vikramarka observed that film artistes were not encouraged for the last 10 years and the previous government neglected the presentation of annual Nandi awards too. The People’s government also decided to encourage and recognise the theatre artistes," he said. Bhatti Vikramarka assured that artistes will get all encouragement from the government and said that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy wanted him to convey this message to all the artistes.
