‘Government to develop Guntur’

Minister Nadendla Manohar said that there are 1.48 crore white ration cards and 1.55 crore gas connections across the state. He stated that it has been found that there are more than 8 lakh gas connections due to non-connectivity

State tourism, culture and cinematography and Guntur district in-charge minister Kandula Durgesh said on Tuesday that the government will work out a clear action plan and take the district forward on the path of development by taking everyone’s suggestions into consideration. He presided over the meeting of the district review committee held at  the conference hall.

The minister reviewed various sectors. On this occasion, Minister Durgesh said that the government is taking several initiatives for the welfare and development of the people and instructed the officials to take them to the people. He also suggested that the officials should coordinate with the local public representatives in this regard.

The Minister directed the revenue, agriculture department and bankers to work in coordination. "The state  government is working for the protection of tenant farmers. Soon the government will bring a new law for tenant farmers. Bankers should not trouble tenant farmers in the matter of CCRC cards and loans to tenant farmers. “he said and  directed the officials to resolve the issues by March 15.

Minister Durgesh enquired about the details of the houses provided by the state government in the month of February under PMAY and directed that steps should be taken to complete the construction of houses at the earliest and provide it to the eligible beneficiaries. He also enquired about the medical services being provided at Guntur government hospital. He asked about the status of Burns Ward.

Minister Durgesh enquired about the condition of pothole-free roads in Guntur district. The officials said that patch work of 335 kms has been completed and the remaining works will be completed by February 15. The minister lamented that the no works has been done in the last five years with respect to laying and repairing of roads.

Speaking on the free gas cylinder scheme, Minister Nadendla Manohar said that there are 1.48 crore white ration cards and 1.55 crore gas connections across the state. He stated that it has been found that there are more than 8 lakh gas connections due to non-connectivity.

In the next week, the village and ward secretariats will be entrusted with the responsibility and the issue will be resolved, he said, adding that more than 87 lakh gas cylinders have been distributed to the beneficiaries in the state.” In Guntur district, 3.83 lakh free gas cylinders have been distributed.

Ultimately, the aim of the government is to benefit more consumers. We will take up the issue of ration vehicles (MDU) with the Chief Minister and discuss how to use them” he mentioned
