Telangana aims to set benchmark in digital governance: Sridhar Babu

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Telangana is working to integrate technology with governance and make the State a role model in digital governance by taking citizen services directly to people’s doorsteps, Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu said.

Speaking after formally launching the ‘MeeSeva Door Delivery Services’ at the RTC Kalyana Mandapam in Bagh Lingampally on Wednesday, Sridhar Babu said the government was introducing technology-driven reforms to improve transparency, accountability and the delivery of public services.

Under the initiative, citizens can book a slot through the 1100 toll-free number or the MeeSeva portal to receive a range of services at their doorsteps. These include birth and death certificates, income, caste and residence certificates, Encumbrance Certificate (EC) copies, select police department services and IGRS services, among others, he said.

More than 70 MeeSeva agents and VLEs have been specially trained to provide the door-delivery services, the Minister said. The services will initially be implemented in ‘CURE’ areas and will subsequently be extended to other parts of the State, he said. Sridhar Babu said the government’s objective was to use technology to make public services more accessible, transparent and accountable to citizens.
