Engineers are not merely providers of technical solutions but also play a key role in guiding society towards progress, said Vignan’s University Chancellor Dr. Pavuluri Subbarao on the occasion of Engineers’ day on Tuesday. He urged engineering students to strengthen their creativity and technical skills in line with the rapid changes taking place in the engineering sector. Engineers’ Day was oberved on a grand note at Vignan’s University in Deshmukhi of Bhoodan Pochampally mandal in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district marking the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya.
Dr. Subbarao advised students not to focus solely on securing high marks, but to develop the habit of conducting experiments with genuine interest. As part of the Engineers’ Day, the university organised a project expo and several technical competitions. Coding contests, technical quizzes, circuit design competitions, technical debates and seminars were also conducted. A free medical camp was also organised on the university campus by the Department of Management Studies in association with Smileguard. University Director Prof. Y.V. Daseswara Rao felicitated and appreciated the Smileguard doctors and representatives for organising the camp.
