Producer and FDC Chairman Dil Raju's comments as part of the ‘Sankrantiki Vastunnam’ movie event featuring hero Venkatesh have now gone viral. He said there would  be no vibe in Telangana like Andhra Pradesh for Sankranti festival and added that there would be  vibes of white toddy and mutton meat in Telangana.

Following this, many people commented on social media that Dil Raju had made derogatory remarks against the people of Telangana. Dil Raju responded to his comments. The video of his response was released on Saturday. He tendered his apologies for his comments.

“In Nizamabad town, we have done a film event “Sankranthiki Vastunnam”. We don't have a lot of film events. In the past, I had a success meet of 'Fidaa' in Nizamabad district. Such is my association with this region as a resident of Nizamabad. I talked about daawat, mutton and white toddy and called as part of our culture.

It is learnt that some people have made negative comments and put them on social media by saying that they have insulted and ridiculed the people of Telangana. I miss Telangana Daawat. I mean to say that after the release of these two films coming up for Sankranthi, I want to do daawat.

I said the same thing at the end of the event. I admire our culture. It is learned that without understanding it, some people are doing the negative campaign on the social media. I'm sorry if all of you are really offended by my words. That's not what I really meant," he said.

He recalled that “Fidaa" movie was shot at Banswada in Nizamabad district and added that the film had gained a lot of popularity all over the world. “How much value we attach to the family bond is conveyed through the role of Bhanumati in it. The movie became a big hit. Similarly, when 'Balagam' was made, the Telangana community congratulated us.

"This is our film!, people of Telangana  said. All political parties have showered praises on us. I don't know how you thought that I would make fun of the culture of this State as a Telangana resident,” he asked. He said he rose from the grassroots level in the film industry and went on to become the State FDC Chairman.

He also said he was ready to provide necessary support and cooperation to the film  industry by standing between the film industry and the State government. “I will work to develop Telugu cinema in Telangana and benefit the youth.

Recently, AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan also made suggestions. I will work with that government to develop the industry and support Telugu cinema. FDC has nothing to do with politics. I appeal to all political parties in Telangana not to drag me into such unnecessary matters," Dil Raju said in the video.
