Marking a significant step toward reviving the capital city project, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has officially invited tenders for the construction of the Secretariat and Heads of Department (HoD) Towers in Amaravati. This move follows the state cabinet’s recent decision to kickstart development works for key institutions, including the Legislative Assembly, High Court, and Secretariat, in the capital region.
According to the tender notification, the CRDA plans to construct a total of five towers — four dedicated to the Secretariat and one for the HoD offices — with an estimated total cost of Rs.4,668 crore. The technical bids for these projects are scheduled to be opened on May 1, signaling the start of the long-anticipated infrastructural development in the capital.
In addition to the main construction works, the CRDA has also issued tenders for setting up a comprehensive CCTV surveillance system and a state-of-the-art Command and Control Center for the Secretariat complex, indicating the administration’s emphasis on security and modern governance infrastructure.
