Collector inspects EVMs and VVPATs

District Collector Sneha Shabarish on Saturday inspected in the presence of representatives of various political parties, the godown where Electronic Voting Machines(EVMs) and VVPATs are being stored.

As per the instructions laid down by the Election Commission of India, this exercise needs to be carried out once in three months. The collector needs to thoroughly inspect the EVMs, VVPATs, ballot units, control units and the rooms where elections related equipment is stored. Collector Sneha Shabarish also examined the security of godowns and the functioning of CCTV Cameras.

The collector signed in the inspection register and instructed the concerned officials to take all necessary precautions without any scope for negligence. District Additional Collector K. Anil Kumar, Elections Superintendent Pavan Kumar and representatives of various political parties took part in this inspection.
