The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy hailed the successful completion of the Comprehensive Caste Census, emphasizing that the initiative has positioned the state as a role model for the entire country. He congratulated the officers and employees involved in the survey.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that the data entry process has been completed, and a draft report will be ready in two days. The final report will be submitted to the Cabinet Sub-Committee on February 2, 2025. The survey, which began on November 6, 2024, covered 96% of the 1.16 crore families in Telangana, ensuring extensive participation across all districts. More than one lakh personnel, including enumerators, supervisors, and data entry operators, played a key role in the process.
CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that the survey data will be instrumental in social empowerment and the comprehensive development of BC, SC, ST, Minority, and Weaker Sections. The BC Dedicated Commission will utilize this statistical data for effective policy formulation and implementation.
Timeline and record speed
Within two months of assuming power, the state Cabinet, which met under the leadership of the CM Revanth Reddy on February 4, approved the proposal to conduct Caste Census through a house-to-house family survey across the state. The government adopted a resolution in the Assembly on February 16 to go ahead with the survey.
