A high-level review meeting was held under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to assess development plans for major temples and Pushkar ghats along the Godavari river stretch from Basara to Bhadrachalam, in preparation for the Godavari Pushkaralu scheduled in June 2027.

During the meeting, officials presented detailed plans through a PowerPoint presentation, outlining works to be completed ahead of the Pushkaralu. The Chief Minister reviewed the proposals and issued key directions to ensure timely and efficient execution of all works.

Emphasizing the importance of scientific planning, the Chief Minister instructed officials to constitute a committee of technical engineers to identify suitable locations for organizing Pushkar activities. He directed that the committee conduct field visits and submit a comprehensive report within 15 to 20 days. This report will then be examined by a committee of officials, which will prepare detailed estimates and forward the proposals to the Cabinet Sub-Committee. The final decision on the implementation of these plans will be taken by the State Cabinet after due approval.

The Chief Minister stressed that the plans must clearly prioritize permanent and temporary works to ensure systematic execution. He also highlighted the need for seamless coordination among various departments and directed the establishment of a dedicated war room at Praja Bhavan to monitor and streamline Pushkar arrangements.

Focusing on infrastructure, the Chief Minister instructed officials to take up expansion of ghats at major temples and tourist destinations along the river to accommodate the expected influx of devotees. He also emphasized improving road infrastructure and connectivity between key locations to prevent logistical challenges during the event.

Officials also presented the master plan for the development and expansion of the Gnana Saraswati Temple at Basara. The Chief Minister reviewed the proposals and offered several suggestions to enhance the temple’s infrastructure and facilities in line with the anticipated increase in pilgrim footfall.

Reiterating the government’s commitment, the Chief Minister directed all departments to work in close coordination and ensure that all developmental works are completed well in advance, making the 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu a smooth and grand spiritual event.
