BRS leader demands investigation into KLSR Infratech Dealings

Bharat Rashtra Samithi Working President K. T. Rama Rao has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah raising serious concerns over the alleged deterioration of law and order in Telangana and irregularities linked to KLSR Infratech Private Limited, a company he claims is associated with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy as a benami entity.

In the letter, KTR alleged that crucial evidence related to the investigation into KLSR Infratech had gone missing while in official custody. He noted that government officials recently informed the Telangana High Court that important evidence connected to the case had disappeared, raising serious concerns about the integrity of the investigation process.

According to KTR, the disappearance of key documents reflects a disturbing decline in institutional accountability and suggests possible interference in the investigation. He alleged that the Chief Minister misused his official position to influence officials and protect the interests of the company.

KTR also questioned the allocation of government contracts to KLSR Infratech, stating that the company has been awarded projects worth more than Rs. 2,500 crore despite undergoing insolvency proceedings. These projects reportedly include irrigation works, drinking water supply schemes, Young India Integrated School projects, and major road construction contracts. Such allocations, he said, raise concerns about transparency, financial eligibility, and adherence to procurement norms.

Referring to earlier investigations, KTR stated that a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number TS 07 FF 0009, which had reportedly been used by the Chief Minister for a long period, was registered in the name of KLSR Infratech. He also highlighted that the company’s insolvency proceedings are currently under consideration before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT). He cited reports that a tribunal member, Justice Sharad Kumar, had recused himself from hearing the matter in August 2025 citing attempts to influence the proceedings.

The BRS leader further referred to reports that enforcement actions were initiated against AS Met Corp, the firm that had filed insolvency proceedings against KLSR in 2022, after the new state government assumed office in December 2023. He also mentioned concerns raised during hearings of Writ Petition No. 18267 of 2025 regarding missing evidence, as well as a recent fire incident at the Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory that has raised questions about the safety of forensic material.

KTR urged the Union government to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation into the alleged financial irregularities and contract allocations related to KLSR Infratech. He requested that agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation, Enforcement Directorate, and Serious Fraud Investigation Office conduct a comprehensive probe.

Copies of the letter were also sent to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice Arjun Ram Meghwal. KTR stated that an independent investigation is necessary to safeguard public funds, uphold transparency in governance, and restore public confidence in the rule of law.
