Globarena sparks fresh war of words

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a sharp attack on BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao during an informal interaction with the media at the Assembly Media Advisory Committee office on Thursday. Reiterating his allegations linking KTR with Globarena Technologies, the Chief Minister asserted that the matter should be subjected to a thorough investigation and maintained that his government had nothing to hide.

Escalating his attack on KTR, Revanth Reddy alleged that Globarena Technologies was KTR's benami company and challenged him to lodge a complaint with the CCS if the allegations were false. He asserted that if the government initiated an inquiry, the opposition would brand it as political vendetta, adding that the matter could be investigated by any agency, including the CBI. Referring to the Intermediate examination controversy, he alleged that 27 students had died by suicide after answer papers were improperly evaluated during the previous BRS regime and demanded that KTR apologise.

CM also defended the Congress government's actions on Kaleshwaram, welfare programmes, employment generation and the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, while accusing the BRS and BJP of working in tandem on several political issues.

Calling the right to vote the foundation of democracy, Revanth Reddy said the remaining phase of the SIR process was extremely crucial and urged Congress workers, especially Booth Level Agents, to ensure that no genuine voter was left out. He expressed concern that Dalits, Adivasis and other vulnerable sections could lose their voting rights due to procedural lapses, warning that the loss of voter registration could eventually affect access to welfare schemes. He alleged that the exercise was aimed at weakening the Congress vote bank.

The Chief Minister said he had shifted his own vote to Kodangal and recalled that the region was once part of Karnataka before the linguistic reorganisation of states.

Targeting Harish Rao, the Chief Minister questioned why he had been removed from the Irrigation portfolio and alleged that irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project had led to his sidelining. He said the NDSA and the P.C. Ghosh Commission reports had clearly pointed to deficiencies in the project and reiterated that the state had already referred the matter to the CBI for investigation. He also defended the government's decisions regarding Medigadda and Kannapalli, saying technical experts had recommended raising the barrage gates and constructing an additional dam.

Revanth Reddy highlighted that his government had reopened Dharna Chowk, filled 11,000 teacher posts within 55 days, strengthened action against food adulteration, and ensured HYDRAA was protecting lakes and government lands. He said the Congress government was committed to transparent governance, lawful administration and safeguarding public interest.
