BJP delegation to visit Jurala project

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Telangana BJP president N. Ramchander Rao announced that a high-level BJP delegation would visit the Jurala project to assess water levels and the problems faced by farmers in the downstream areas. Addressing the media at the BJP state office, Rao alleged that the BRS and Congress were engaging in political distractions instead of addressing public issues.

He demanded that the Congress government ensure adequate water releases from Jurala to protect downstream crops and urged it to coordinate with the Congress government in Karnataka for releases from the Almatti and Narayanpur projects. Rao also criticized the Telangana government over the non-implementation of the PM Fasal Bima Yojana, pointing out that farmers affected by crop losses, including those linked to El Niño conditions, lacked adequate insurance protection.

On the Ganesh immersion arrangements, Rao demanded permission for large idols to be immersed at Hussain Sagar in accordance with tradition and condemned the arrests of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi members.

He also alleged that police resources were being diverted to political matters instead of being fully deployed for Ganesh immersion arrangements.

Rao said the Centre, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, was supporting Telangana through infrastructure, railway, airport and food-grain initiatives. Earlier, he welcomed several prominent leaders from Warangal into the BJP.
