AP Fibernet Chairman sacks three senior officials

Andhra Pradesh Fibernet chairman G V Reddy announced on Thursday that three senior officials have been removed for dereliction of duty. Fibrenet Business Head Gandhamchettu Suresh, Assistant Manager-Procurement Shashank Haider Khan and Chief Technology Officer Bharadwaja have been removed.

The Chairman said that even after nine months of the formation of the coalition government, fibernet has not received any revenue. He alleged that top officials in the company were not cooperating. G V Reddy alleged that Rs 1.5 crores were paid as the salaries to the 410 employees who were sacked for joining hands with the influential people of the previous government were also paid.

He also criticised the officials of Fibrenet for not paying heed when he proposed reforms in fibernet and ordered the laying off of 400 employees. He said that neither the MD nor the ED have signed the lay-off orders. He said the fibernet officials had not brought to his notice the fact that the GST authorities had imposed a penalty of Rs 377 crore on fibernet.GV Reddy said that not a single new connection has been given in the state in these nine months.
