In one of the biggest industrial clearances in Andhra Pradesh’s recent history, the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, has approved investment proposals worth over Rs 2 lakh crore across sectors including data centres, renewable energy, electric mobility, manufacturing, and food processing. The approvals, granted during the 17th SIPB meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, cover 25 major projects with a combined investment value of Rs 2,01,023 crore.

Officials estimate that the projects will generate employment opportunities for nearly 39,067 people, both directly and indirectly. Among the marquee investments is a massive proposal by Reliance Industries to establish a state-of-the-art data centre in Visakhapatnam with an investment of Rs 1,08,010 crore. The project is expected to significantly strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s digital infrastructure ambitions and position Visakhapatnam as a major technology and cloud infrastructure hub in India. The project alone is expected to create around 1,000 jobs.

Reliance also secured approval for a Rs 51,300-crore solar power and battery energy storage project in Sri Sathya Sai district. The mega renewable energy project is expected to create employment for nearly 20,000 people and marks one of the largest clean energy investments in the state.

In another key development, the Adani Group received approval for a Rs 12,297-crore pumped storage hydro energy project in Kadapa district, aimed at strengthening renewable energy balancing and storage capacity. The project is expected to generate over 3,300 jobs.

The SIPB also cleared a Rs 2,508-crore motorcycle manufacturing unit by Royal Enfield in Tirupati district, which is projected to provide employment to nearly 3,000 people. Global HVAC manufacturer Carrier Global Corporation received approval for an Rs 863-crore bulk chiller manufacturing facility in Tirupati.

Other major industrial approvals included a Rs 6,100-crore tyre manufacturing project by Apollo Tyres in Sri City, a Rs 9,398-crore green hydrogen project by Yamanko India in Tirupati district, and multiple biofuel, renewable energy, and food processing projects spread across several districts.

Addressing officials during the meeting, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu stressed that every investment proposal should translate into a grounded project within fixed timelines. He directed departments to ensure there are no delays in approvals, land allotment, or clearances, stating that Andhra Pradesh should build a brand around speed, efficiency, and investor facilitation.
