In a significant boost to the state’s development narrative, Andhra Pradesh has secured the second-highest economic growth rate among all Indian states for the fiscal year 2024–25. This achievement comes within months of the coalition government taking office, underscoring the state’s accelerating progress on the economic front.

Reacting to the development, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took to social media to express both pride and a renewed sense of purpose. Reflecting on his previous tenure in the 1990s, he drew parallels between Hyderabad’s transformation and Andhra Pradesh’s current momentum.

“When I first became Chief Minister around 1990, Hyderabad was in second place while Bengaluru was leading. But today, Hyderabad stands as the number one city in all respects,” Naidu wrote. “Likewise, today we face a new challenge — or rather, a new opportunity. We must seize it and move forward.”

He added, “Being in second place means we must work even harder. It is a reminder that there is still more to achieve.”
